Petaling Jaya, 25 April 2013 HTC Malaysia launched the all new HTC One smartphone in the Studio Lounge, Tropicana City Mall today, to an excited crowd of media members and friends. Coupled with a free flow of drinks and food, members of the media were treated to a showcase of the sexy, sleek and all new HTC one.

“People today immerse themselves in a constant stream of updates, news and information. Although smartphones are one of the main ways we stay in touch with the people and information we care about, conventional designs have failed to keep pace with how people are actually using them,” said SK Wong, Country Manager of HTC Malaysia. “A new, exciting approach to the smartphone is needed and with the new HTC One, we have re-imagined the mobile experience from the ground up to reflect this new reality.”

Clearly, i wasn’t the only one who was excited about the one. No pun intended.

The Launch began at 7.40pm in the Studio Lounge, with a speech from SK Wong, Country Manager of HTC Malaysia, followed by a product presentation by Wayne Tang, Product Marketing Manager of HTC, Southeast Asia. Also present were Mr. Goh Thih Liang, Country Manager of Qualcomm Malaysia and Steve Nisbet, Managing Director of Otterbox APAC, each giving their speech during the event.

Old versus new. HTC One X vs HTC One.

Sporting a new interface as well, the HTC one looks to be a contender to the recently released Sony Xperia Z. While it may not survive as a submersible, the HTC one‘s design feels superior in comparison to it’s sharp edged competitor. The HTC one features a zero-gap aluminium unibody, unlike it’s predecessor the HTC one X, and introduces three new highlighted features, namely the HTC Blinkfeed™, HTC Zoe™ and HTC Boomsound™ as part of the new HTC Sense® mobile experience. As we are yet to fully test these features, below are the details of the features from the official press release.

Pricing

The new HTC One is priced at RM2,299 for 32GB storage and RM2,499 for 64GB storage in both colours, Stealth Black and Glacial Silver.
