HTC One M9 openly leaks: Stunning dual-colour finish, top internals

HTC One M9 leak

The big Mobile World Congress (MWC 2015) in Barcelona is just days away with bigwigs like Samsung, Sony and HTC either already announced products or plan to reveal them during the conference. HTC has made no attempts to plug detailed leaks of its upcoming flagship device — the HTC One M9. We’re not talking cleverly cropped, blurry pics but full-blown high-resolution imagery and product videos.

At first glance, the HTC One M9 doesn’t look much different from the HTC One M8 or M7 for that matter. It still has the delicious all-metal unibody and a 5-inch display. Why redesign perfection right? The new M9 does have a delicious new two-tone finish and will purportedly be available in dark gunmetal/dark gunmetal, gold/silver and gold/gold variants.

Camera optics have always been a key focus with HTC devices and the new M9 features a new 20.7MP main f/2.2 camera with dual LED flash and a 4MP UltraPixel camera on the front. HTC is dropping its dual-camera setup seen on the M8 in favour of a single 20MP sensor with OIS.

Initially, it was widely believed that the M9 will feature a QHD display but the latest info seem to point to a more down-to-earth 5-inch FHD (1920×1080) display.

BoomSound speakers are reported to be returning to the HTC One fray, so good news for audio enthusiasts.

Internally, the M9 will pack some might — Qualcomm’s new 64-bit 2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 810 with 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage (upgradeable to 128GB via microSD).

If leaked Geekbench 3.0 benchmark results are any indication, the M9 is going to fly in terms of performance.

Battery life should be pretty impressive with the inclusion of a non-removable 2900mAh battery.

The svelte HTC One M9 will run Android 5.0.2 Lollipop with a new Sense 7 skin.

It’s official: HTC is NOT getting into the botanical business

The HTC One M8 and Butterfly 2 being a few of my favourite devices of 2014, I can’t wait for 10AM EST @ 1 March for the official unveiling of the M9. Looking yum, HTC.
