Tan Sri Francis Yeoh presenting us a story.

Tan Sri just presented an Apple iPhone FaceTime TVC

Tan Sri just plugged Apple CEO Steve Jobs…

Now I get why the story is being told. Steve’s famous network problems during a Keynote.

FaceTime failed during keynote due to undedicated Wifi. The real acid test of a mobile network – mobile video conferencing.

“Mr Steve Jobs, YES 4G has fulfilled your FaceTime dream!”

YES 4G Android coming in a few months. Yay. With its own FaceTime type service :)

Why can’t Malaysia have video conferencing at a reasonable price?
Now you can with @Yes4G

YTL Comms CEO Wing giving an overview of YTL

With the Yes Huddle, you can FaceTime anytime!

Yes Zoom has one of the most powerful antennae, -27db.

May get a 4G Buzz as a second phone. My first ever 4G Cloud phone!

Talking about YesLife. Mac version coming in a few weeks. Yes! That’s what I’ve been waiting to hear!

Wing demoing YesLife now.

For the record have tested YesLife and quite like it. It needs the ability to import address books/contacts from PC/Gmail,etc…

Coming to YesLife soon is video conferencing with the ability to have 4 concurrent feeds.

Waiting while buffering the famous Malaysian pastime says Wing, as he demos a YouTube video in full 1080p. Hardly any wait. nice.

FaceTime live demo between Wing and Tan Sri.

Yes 4G bringing the world FaceTime all time, every time without lag!

81% satisfaction rate.

It’s only been 108 days. 1 million voice minutes. 670,000 SMSes. 104TB of data. and counting.

You can Top up at ePay now – over 5,700 outlets. They even have their own category!

The internet is a liberty to all, says Tan Sri.

If all 20 million of you join the network, we’ll do a Groupon and give you discounts, says Tan Sri explaining the abundance philosophy.

Very savvy this Tan Sri. it’s a good thing. He’s wayy savvier than a certain Information minister.

The proof of the pudding is in eating it. We’re all gonna experience the power of the 4G network all the way to Penang. Stay tuned guys!

Ladies and gentlemen, we have left the Ritz Carlton! In the Alphard with @charpree @ernamh @amanfirdaus @heavenlysublime and YTLC’s Terence. Penang here we come. We are Huddled!

First food stop. Bidor.

Everyone’s getting car sick now. Lol. Check out the Tweets. #yespenang

Downloading 840MB Apple iPad 2 keynote on the run. Pretty awesome. As high as 4Mbps. Consistently around 1-2Mbps on the highway.

Slim River in about 13 clicks. I’m getting hungry.

Bidor. Yipppeeee. We’re car sick and super hungry.

Back on the road after big lunch. Notice that there were no Tweets in a span of that hour. Lol.

So apparently my Huddle didn’t work. Because I didn’t put the battery in. Lol. Doh. Activated and now full speed ahead homies!

Near Gopeng now.

This is awesome and just streamed live:

Popped by iPoh to pick up hot and salty chicks

Here’s @arystle and @eepings

From hot to salty, we went to white, soft and bouncy

Imagine riding from KL to Penang in this. Riding only this. Powered by soya of course.

And the weather takes a turn. Heavy rain now. Boo.
But speeds are solid at Sg Perak rest stop.

Aside from disconnects in certain hilly areas, the YES network performance has been generally very positive, consistently giving us 1-5Mbps with speeds as high as 10Mbps for DL and 2-3MBps UL in some areas. Find this quite liberating and handy, especially good for those always on the road and needing a connection. Coverage and consistency, aside from cost, are key areas that define a wireless broadband sevice. I think on these key areas, YES delivers.

What’s surprising and pleasantly so, we are connected where EDGE/3G fails, regardless of which telco.

Really poor visibility now. Very heavy downpour.

Just past Juru toll. Slight heavy traffic. Waiting for a few other cars. We are heading to Queensbay Mall where CEO Wing will be there to greet us.

Testing international servers. Pretty decent speeds. Local servers continue to be impressive.

Well hello, Penang!

CEO Wing greeted us at QBM. Cam whored, then left and checked in to Vistana Hotel. Nice suite, sharing with @yogaretnam

End of transmission.
