Following the Pakatan Harapan government’s move to zero-rate the good and services tax (GST) effective 1 June 2018, car manufacturers have wasted no time in announcing reduced prices for car models. Honda Malaysia was one of the first to reduce prices of its cars, with up to MYR18,072 in savings. As part of its festive rewards campaign, Honda customers will also enjoy other savings and bonuses in the month of June.
Honda’s Completely Knocked Down (CKD) models namely Jazz, Jazz Hybrid, BR-V, City, City Hybroid, HR-V, Civic, CCR-V and Accord will get price reductions from MYR4,088 to MYR9,573.as
As an example, the Jazz “S Variant” in Standard colour is down to MYR68,422 from MYR72,510 (OTR w/o insurance, 0% GST, Peninsular Malaysia).
Completely built Unit (CBU) models like the new Odyssey and Civic Type R will enjoy reductions of MYR14,362 and MYR18,072 respectively. The Nurburgring FWD champion Civic Type R, previously retailing for MYR320,000 can be driven home for MYR301, 928 (OTR w/o insurance, 0% GST, Peninsular Malaysia).
Honda also said that GST for Honda spare parts as well as service maintenance including labour charge and Honda genuine accessories will be zero-rated for all Honda models effective 1 June 2018.
