Alongside its finest smartphone to date–Xperia XZ Premium, Sony Mobile also debuted the Xperia XA1 Ultra for the Malaysian market. The bigger sibling of the popular Xperia XA1, it features the same beautiful borderless design with an edge-to-edge screen.
As a mid-range device, the Xperia XA1 Ultra packs plenty, and certainly looks every bit the premium device it’s positioned to be.
The borderless design first seen last year is now even more refined, boasting a seamless curvature to fit perfectly in your hand. The diamond cut-like finish on the top and bottom of its aluminium body makes it feel most expensive than it is.
The beautiful body houses a 6-inch Full HD display with Sony’s Image Enhance Technology.
Underneath is a power-efficient MediaTek Helio P20 octa-core processor, backed by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. For those who need more, there’s microSD expansion of up to 256GB.
The camera is the backbone of the smartphone these days, and there’s no company better than Sony’s own camera expertise. The Xperia XA1 Ultra offers 23MP resolution with a larger 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS for mobile sensor. This is coupled with a superfast f/2.0 aperture lens for superior low light capability.
This is aided by the fast and accurate Hybrid Autofocus, guaranteed to take you from zero to launch in just 0.6s.
On the front, there’s a whopping 16MP camera with a 23mm wide-angle lens and Optical Image Stabiliser (OIS). Say goodbye to shaky, blurry selfies.
Keeping things juiced is a large 2,700mAh battery with Qnovo Adaptive Charging, that monitors the battery’s health and adjust charging current for optimised charging. Sony’s Stamina Mode keeps the battery going longer.
Like on other Xperia devices, the XA1 Ultra also has Xperia Actions that learns your usage patterns to deliver you customizable settings and recommendations.

The Xperia XA1 Ultra retails for MYR1,899 and is available for pre-order now until 4 June 2017 at selected Sony Stores, Sony Mobile Stores, Sony Centres, authorised dealers, and 11street.
The device is available in White, Black, Pink and Gold colour options.
