The Xiaomi factory continues to churn out devices like there’s no tomorrow. This time around, for those with shallower pockets, the Chinese smartphone maker is bringing the Redmi 7A to Malaysia. The new budget device packs serious kit for just under MYR400.
A complete upgrade over its predecessor, the Redmi 6A, the Redmi 7A sports the power-efficient oct-core Snapdragon 439 chipset, coupled with 2GB RAM and up to 32GB of storage.
It features a 5.45-inch HD+ Full Screen Display, boasting blue light eye protection certification by TUV Rheinland.
Keeping the device juiced is a massive 4,000mAh battery that Xiaomi claims offers up to two days of normal use.
On the aspect of optics, the Redmi 7A packs a 12MP (Sony IMX486) f/2.2 rear camera with a large pixel size of 1.25 micron pixel on the rear, and a 5MP f/2.2 selfie camera with AI Face Unlock.
Handy extras include a built-in FM radio, dedicated microSD slot, a headphone jack, and splash resistance for additional piece of mind.
The phone runs Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10 on top.
