Vivo NEX officially on sale in Malaysia now

vivo NEX

Vivo’s latest flagship smartphone and its most advanced ever – NEX – is now officially on sale in Malaysia. The ground-breaking smartphone boasts an elevating camera, third-generation In-Display Fingerprint Scanning technology and top-of-the-line hardware specs.

Launched less than a week ago, the stunning vivo NEX pushes the envelope in terms of screen-to-body ratio, topping 90 percent with its 6.59-inch Full HD+ AMOLED Ultra FullView Display. It loses out to the equally stunning OPPO Find X, but still an amazing feat.

It happens to be the biggest display on any vivo device. But that’s not what’s cool.

With an all-screen front, there’s no notch and no visible speakers or camera. Audio instead uses screen soundcasting technology – audio emits through the display like the Mi MIX and Sony’s Bravia A1 Series TV.

No front camera? Not quite. Like OPPO, the NEX features a motorised “elevating” camera that pops up when it’s needed. Once you’re done with your selfie, the module whirs as it tucks back neatly into the main chassis. Cool beans.

Next on its impressive list of cutting-edge features is the In-Display Fingerprint Scanning technology, the world’s first commercial implementation on a smartphone.

In terms of build, the NEX is right up there with the best – a blend of metal and glass with curved edges.

Under the hood, the NEX packs a top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with an Adreno 630 GPU, coupled with 8GB of RAM and a generous 128GB of storage.

In terms of shooting capabilities, the device comes with a 12MP f/1.8 + 5MP f/2.4 dual-camera system on the rear. It come with Dual Pixel autofocus, 4-axis optical image stabilisation (OIS) and electronic image stabilisation (EIS). The 1.4-micron pixel size ensures good performance in low light conditions.
