Up next: Mactel vs Wintel

As Apple waves goodbye to the single processor 1.8Ghz Power Mac G5, it files a trademark application for the term ‘Mactel’, according to new Mac website – Mac on Intel. This move is likely to be more of a protective measure against misuse of the term, more so than the likelihood of Apple actually using the term in any of its products. Personally I think it sounds like a telco, more so than a computer company or term. Heh.

Will the Mac OS beat Windows on the same hardware? Hmm. Interesting thought. We’ll all see in 18 months. May the best OS win!
