Uber ‘gives back’ with epic Free Rides promo for Ramadan

Uber ride

We’re in the second day of the holy month of Ramadan, and Uber wants to get you home safely for Iftar. The popular car sharing platform is offering free rides for all from now till 30 June 2015. This epic deal is valid in Klang Valley for trips between 4PM and 9PM and limited to a maximum value of RM25 per trip.

If you haven’t already, install the free Uber app on your Android, iOS or Windows Phone device, then enter the promo code “MYUBERRAMADAN” into the app. You only need to do this once to enjoy your free rides till the end of the month. There are no limitations to how many rides you can take within the time span, as long as it is within the RM25 range per trip. That’s good for Uber X rides, and even a short trip Uber Black if you’re lucky.

Uber Free Ride Ramadan

Uber offers three categories of vehicles — UberLUX, UberBlack and UberX. UberLUX is of course the ultimate Uber experience with luxury cars that range from S-Class Mercs, Jaguars, Maseratis and BMWs. UberBlack gets you premium large sedans like Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Nissan Teana and more. UberX brings it more down-to-earth with an colourful blend of small- and mid-sized vehicles namely Perodua MyVI and Axia, Toyota Vios, Honda City and Honda Civic.

Rates of course defer depending on the different types of Uber rides. Here’s a breakdown:

UberLUX
Base fare: RM10
Running rate: RM2.00/min + RM2.50/km
Minimum fare: RM30

UberBlack
Base fare: RM3
Running rate: RM0.50/min + RM1.40/km
Minimum fare: RM5

UberX
Base fare: RM2

The Uber experience is pretty slick — you can get a ride in just a couple of clicks. It is a cashless service, and will require a credit or debit card. No worrying over cash and change whenever you ride with Uber as everything is done electronically.

For those fasting, Selamat Berpuasa and ride safe (and in style!).
