Noor Kamarul is new TM Group CEO

Telekom Malaysia

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (“TM”) has officially appointed Dato’ Noor Kamarul Anuar Nuruddin as its new Managing Director (MD) / Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) / Executive Director (ED), a nominee of its Special Shareholder, Minister of Finance, effective 13 June 2019.

Dato’ Noor Kamarul takes over the helm from a succession of interim CEOs including Datuk Bazlan Osman and Imri Mokhtar, after the resignation of Dato’ Sri Mohammed Shazalli Ramly in June last year.

Then Acting CEO Datuk Bazlan Osman rejected an offer to a more permanent fixture, choosing instead to relinquish his interim position as well as resigning as Executive Director.

Former Astro Malaysia Group CEO Rohana Rozhan was initially tipped for the top post, one of three external candidates being considered. According to sources close to the matter, two internal TM candidates were also being considered for the post, including TM’s Chief Strategy Officer Dr Farid Mohamed Sani.
