Samsung Mob!lers, a global initiative that advocates opportunities for young talents to express their creativity in writing and reporting, is now in Malaysia. Samsung Malaysia Electronics (SME) recently kicked off the initiative at Taylors University Lakeside.

Samsung-mobilers-logoThe Samsung Mob!lers.my program is designed to empower young aspiring Malaysian bloggers who are passionate about writing and reporting, through exclusive activities organised by Samsung. These activities would provide source of content for the bloggers as well as expand their versatility through diverse subjects covered.

Speaking at the launch of Samsung Mob!lers.my, Head of Mobile Phone Division, Samsung Malaysia Electronics Sdn Bhd, Mr. Vincent Chong said, “Beyond enriching lives with cutting edge mobile devices, we are very proud to launch a global programme that engages our local community and provides them with unique opportunities. The Samsung Mob!lers programme empowers budding Malaysian bloggers with invaluable experiences that not only hone their writing skills but help them grow their chosen trade in the digital era. These chosen writers or bloggers will also be the 1st among their peers to test new digital technology prior to commercial release.”

If you’re a college or university student, you can sign up to be part of Samsung Mob!lers by submitting a sample piece of writing based on the theme – “See it. Share it.Become famous.” This can be done at the nationwide campus roadshow tour or via online registration.

Top 200 shortlisted writing talents will be invited to attend the Samsung Mob!lers Writer’s Bootcamp where they will gain a valuable guidance from industry experts. The highlight of it all is that a group of bloggers will be selected as official Samsung Mob!lers to represeent Malaysia in exclusive international events, both local and abroad.

The ambassadorship and talent-grooming program is open to all Malaysians aged 17 and above.

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – 23 October 2012: Samsung Electronics, a global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, has announced the launch of Samsung Mob!lers.my (Malaysia), a programme advocating opportunities for budding writers in Malaysia in Taylors University Lakeside today. Anchored on the digital platform, the initiative is meant to provide avenues both in the global and local context for young talents to express their creativity in writing and reporting.

College and university students can sign-up to participate in the Samsung Mob!lers by submitting their writing surrounding the theme, See it. Share it. Become famous, at a nationwide campus roadshow tour or via online registration. The top 200 writing talents shortlisted will be invited to attend Samsung Mob!lers Writer’s Bootcamp, where they will experience a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to gain valuable guidance from industry experts. From this, a group of young bloggers will be selected as official Samsung Mob!lers who will represent Malaysia in exclusive invitational events, both locally and on the global stage.

Also at the event was Mr. Balaguru Ambalavanan, Deputy Dean of School of Communication, who mentioned that such a program was timely as Taylor’s University was embarking on a Writer’s Café to encourage students of Taylor’s University School of Communication to engage their peers and lecturers digitally.

The Samsung Mob!lers.my program is designed to empower young Malaysian bloggers who are passionate about writing and reporting, through exclusive opportunities made available through Samsung whether it be an event or product experience.  Further, these activities will not only provide content but a chance to expand versatility in writing through their involvement with a variety of activities.

A unique Facebook-based platform, Samsung Mob!lers.my enables Samsung Mob!lers to seamlessly share their articles on all social platforms. The Samsung Mob!lers.my program is open to all Malaysians aged 17 years and above nationwide.
