Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ now available in Sunrise Gold and Burgundy Red

Galaxy S9 + S9+ Burgundy Red and Sunrise Gold

If Midnight Black is too mainstream, Coral Blue making you blue, or you’ve fallen out of love with Lilac Purple, here’s some good news for you. Samsung has announced two new colour editions of the Galaxy S9 and S9+: Sunrise Gold and Burgundy Red.

The Sunrise Gold edition for Galaxy S9 and S9+ is Samsung’s first device to feature a satin gloss finish that exudes both sophistication and calm. Samsung says the new finish was developed to “appeal to all users by bringing a stylistic touch of high fashion and urban interior design to a user’s mobile device.”

Meanwhile, the Burgundy Red edition is one of the deepest red colours available, featuring a restrained gloss for added density. It looks luxurious, yet both contemporary and traditional.

The Burgundy Red edition will be available in Korea and China starting in May. Sunrise Gold will be available starting June in select markets including Australia, Chile, Germany, Hong Kong, Korea, Mexico, Russia, Spain, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates and Vietnam.

Strangely, Malaysia is not on the list.

To recap, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ are Samsung’s best devices yet. They come with much-loved Infinity Displays, top notch hardware and advanced cameras.

The killer feature is the variable aperture camera which can switch between f/1.5 for better low light performance and depth-of-field shots; or f/2.4 for outdoor photography or bright light.

It’s also capable of Super Slow-mo mode which is captured at 960fps.

For the first time, the Galaxy S9 series gets stereo speakers, tuned by AKG and supports Dolby Atmos.

The Galaxy S9 retails for MYR3,299 (64GB storage) while the base Galaxy S9+ goes for MYR3,799. The 128GB and 256GB models retail at MYR3,999 and MYR4,399 respectively.
