Samsung today further expanded the Galaxy S20 family with the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition (FE). At USD699 for the 5G model, it’s the most accessible Galaxy S20 to date without compromising on premium flagship features. These include fan favourite innovations like the high refresh rate display, pro-grade camera, powerful chipset, 5G connectivity, all-day battery, and expandable storage.
The Galaxy S20 FE comes in six vibrant colours including Cloud Red, Cloud Orange, Cloud Lavender, Cloud Mint, Cloud Navy, and Cloud White. The textured haze effect on the body purportedly minimises fingerprints and smudges.
The IP68-rated dust- and water-resistant body houses a 6.5-inch flat FHD+ Infinity-O Super AMOLED display boasting a 120Hz refresh rate.
Under the hood, the device is powered by either a 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor or Exynos 990 with up to 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of storage.
It offers microSD expansion (up to 1TB) via a hybrid SIM slot (single SIM or Dual SIM models depending on market).
In terms of connectivity, the Galaxy S20 FE comes with either 5G (NSA, Sub6/mmWave) or 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS/Galileo/Glonass,BeiDou.
Keeping it juiced is a 4,500mAh battery that supports fast wireless charging 2.0, USB PD 3.0 certified wired fast charging and reverse wireless charging (Wireless PowerShare).
The phone comes built in with NFC and MST payment via Samsung Pay and authentication can be done via the optical fingerprint sensor as well as face recognition.
Audiophiles will appreciate the stereo speakers and earphones tuned by AKG, with support for Dolby Atmos technology.
In the optics department, the rear camera system consists of a 12MP f/1.8 main shooter with Dual Pixel AF and OIS, 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide shooter, and an 8MP f/2.4 telephoto camera that supports 30x Space Zoom, OIS and Tracking AF.
Over on the front is a punch-hole 32MP f/2.2 selfie shooter.

The Galaxy S20 FE will be widely available via Samsung.com, telcos and online retailers starting 2 October 2020. Pre-orders for the 5G and LTE models will begin on Samsung.com starting 23 September 2020.
The Galaxy S20 FE starts at USD699 (MYR3,399). As a comparison, the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra are priced at USD999 (MYR3,599), USD1,199 (MYR3,999), and USD1,399 (MYR4,999), respectively.

In Malaysia, the Galaxy S20 FE 5G will be available for pre-orders beginning 24 September 2020 at 10.00AM until 8 October 2020 (while stocks last).
