With a void left by the Galaxy Note7, the only Samsung phablet with a stylus you can officially get hold of on the market is the Galaxy Note5. Still a kick-ass phablet in its own right, Samsung is bumping up storage to 64GB.
Sure it’s more than a year old, but the Galaxy Note5 64GB is the only smartphone equipped with the signature S Pen. If productivity and doing creative things on your smartphone is your thing, then the Galaxy Note5 is perfect. The flagship tablet hit Malaysian shores in September 2015.
The 64GB variant comes in three colour options – Silver, Titanium, Gold Platinum and Black Sapphire.
Just to recap, the stunning Galaxy Note5 shares its underpinnings with the Galaxy S6/S6 edge+, and features a premium glass-metal design.
There’s a much-loved 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display and is powered by the 14nm 64-bit Exynos 7420 processor coupled with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. It’s no slouch.
If you’re looking for memory expansion though, you’ll be disappointed as it is sans microSD support (like the S6/S6 edge+).
Another great feature is the big 3,000mAh battery that supports fast wired and wireless charging. With the fast charging wired option, it gets fully charged up from zero in just 90 minutes. Wirelessly, it does this in a cool 120 minutes.
In the camera optics department, it will still impress by today’s standards. A 16MP f/1.9 camera with OIS and LED flash is fast and sharp.
Communication-wise, it supports Cat.9 4G LTE and is a dual-SIM device.
The crown jewel, without a doubt, is the S Pen. For the first time, the S Pen features a unique clicking mechanism that lets you easily eject the stylus from its silo. No more prying with nails.
The new S Pen lets you jot notes on the screen even when it’s off. “Air Command” is more intuitive and more customizable.
