Samsung has added another device to its ever expanding portfolio, with the introduction of the Samsung GALAXY GRAND quattro — a 4.7-inch smartphone for the entry-level and mid-range market.

Powering the device is a quad core 1.2Ghz processor, assuring powerful performance, seamless multi-tasking and enhanced productivity. The GALAXY GRAND quattro comes built-in with 1GB RAM, 8GB of storage (upgradable to 64GB via microSD) and sports Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

The 4.7-inch  WVGA TFT display is decently bright and crisp, although not any way close to the Super AMOLED Samsung is famous for. The large display however, should satisfy those who need more screen real estate.

The new smartphone weighs only 143.9gms and comes with a 2,000mAh battery.

The device comes with the usual connectivity options found on modern smartphones — Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and GPS.

A useful addition is the GALAXY GRAND quattro’s dual-SIM capability, useful for people with two numbers or frequent travellers.

The shooting prowess of the smartphone is enabled by a 5MP main camera, supported with functions like Continuous Shot, Colour Effect and Scene mode.

Some key enhancements to user experience include Motion UX, that enables users to command the phone by simply shaking it or turning it over. The phone also comes with a Easy Mode for the home screen and widgets, that allows streamlined access to most frequently used apps.

The GALAXY Grand quattro also comes with the usual Samsung developed apps like ChatON and enhanced Samsung Apps.

Pricing and Availability
The Samsung GALAXY Grand quattro retails at RM999 and is available now at all Samsung stores and authorised resellers.
