Royal Canin Malaysia has introduced Royal Canin Club—a mobile app designed to educate and guide pet owners in Malaysia about the best practices of pet care. The app takes a holistic approach to pet care covering topics like diet and nutrition, digestive health, neonatal to ageing care, skin and coat care, pet training and behaviours, and pets’ general wellbeing.
While there are many pet owners in Malaysia and many want to own one, not all pet owners are properly equipped with the right education on pet care.
“So we designed the Royal Canin Club app to serve as a mobile guide to all pet owners to access with convenience and ease no matter where they are and create a better world for cats and dogs,” explained Dmitriy Sokolov, market head of Royal Canin Malaysia.
According to Royal Canin, there are around 2.2 million cats and 1.2 million dogs under the care of pet owners in Malaysia. Top breeds of cats include Persian, Siamese, and British Shorthair while the most common breeds of dogs are German Shepherd, Pomeranian, and Rottweiler.
Because pets have distinct genetic dispositions based on the breed, they may be prone to certain health conditions, Sokolov explained. Hence, it is imperative to learn about your pets and understand what aspects of their health that would require special attention.
The Royal Canin Club is designed to deliver a personalised user experience to pet owners. Once you’ve downloaded and installed the app, simply fill in your basic personal details and your pet(s)’. Then, answer some simple questions about your pet’s breed, type of fur, age, and any pre-existing conditions. The app would then generate content based on this data.
As added incentive, you can collect points every time you fulfil a task in the app. This includes filling your pet profile, completing surveys and answering quizzes.
Also, new users who sign up for the app will receive a referral code from Royal Canin’s retail partners to earn points. These points can be used to redeem rewards and Royal Canin products. You will also receive a welcome voucher and gift set which you can redeem at any Royal Canin’s participating retail partners nationwide.
Later this year, you will also be to collect points on the app with your Royal Canin purchases.
