Camera

The T2 Ultra camera is packed with Sony’s familiar 13MP Exmor RS sensor with a 1/3.06″ size and 1.12 micron pixels, coupled with an excellent f/2.2 lens. Quality of the camera hardware needs no introduction, something you may have seen in our Lenovo K900 review, and similarly found on other upper end mid-range smartphones.

The camera does very well when given good light – with the right balance of colour and brilliantly sharp images. It generally copes well indoors too, with noise levels kept in check.

My gripe though, as I also had similarly with the K900, was the sometimes annoyingly slow shutter and autofocus which results in missed opportunities or blur images.

The camera app is full featured, with over 36 different scene presets in Superior Auto, intelligently selected based on environment and type of shot. Superior Auto works very well in general.

Other modes include Background Defocus (go bokeh-crazy all you want), Timeshift Burst, Social Live, Manual, AR effect, Sweep Panorama, Portrait effct or go filter crazy with Picture effect.

My desk has never been messier, thanks to T-Rex’s and stuff.

AR effect is particularly fun, adding interactive 3D elements in an augmented reality environment to your photos.
