Realme XT debuts with 64MP quad-camera

Realme XT

Following the recent launch of the Realme 5, Realme has unveiled yet another device for the Malaysian audience—this time one with a whopper of a camera. The Realme XT, essentially an “extended” version of the Realme 5 Pro, brings along several upgrades including a 64MP quad-camera system.

Right off the bat, the XT bears a striking resemblance to its siblings, the Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro.

The device gets a 6.4-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Display and includes an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Under the hood, it’s powered by the familiar 10nm oct-core Snapdragon 712 AIE processor, paired with a generous 8GB RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. You’ll need plenty of storage for the 64MP high-resolution photos you’ll be taking, so if you do fill up the 128GB of onboard storage, feel free to add more via microSD.

For shooters, the Realme XT comes with a quad-cam system headlined by the 64MP GW1 sensor with an f/1.8 lens. This is flanked by an 8MP ulta-wide-angle camera, 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensor. Realme is second only to Xiaomi in introducing a 64MP smartphone camera to the Malaysian market.

On the front, an inconspicuous notch on the display houses a 16MP f/2.0 selfie shooter.

Keeping things going all day is a large 4,000mAh battery that supports 20W VOOC Flash Charge 3.0 and charges up via USB-C.

Realme claims the 20W charger will get the phone from 0-100 percent in 80 minutes. That’s mighty impressive.

In case you were wondering, the Realme XT does have a 3.5mm headphone jack and it runs Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box with ColorOS 6 on top.

Pricing and availability

The Realme XT is priced at MYR1,399 and it’s offered in just one configuration—8GB RAM + 128GB of storage. It comes in two colour options—Pearl White and Pearl Blue.

Offline sales start on 9 November, while it will be sold exclusively on Lazada starting 11 November 2019.

Additionally, there will be an online exclusive model for the Realme 5—with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, which will go on sale during the 11.11 Lazada sale.

Stay tuned!
