Samsung Galaxy S10

Samsung launched its latest and greatest smartphone today at Galaxy Unpacked in San Francisco – the Galaxy S10 series. Celebrating 10 years of innovation, the new flagship series continues to bring the best in performance, camera and display. Consisting of the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10e (the Galaxy S10 5G will not be available in Malaysia), the new series is set to hit Malaysia in March with pre-orders starting 10AM Friday, 22 February until 28 February 2019 (while stocks last).

As usual, Samsung Malaysia is offering mouth-watering bundles with its new devices. With each Galaxy S10, you stand to walk away with goodies worth up to MYR1,479. This includes the Galaxy Tab 7.0, Galaxy Buds, and Samsung Screen Protection depending on model and specs.

You can pre-order the Galaxy S10 from the official Samsung Malaysia website (s10preorder.mysamsungcampaign.com/, all Samsung Experience Stores, authorised retailers and telcos (Maxis).

Here’s a quick refresher of what the new Galaxy devices offer.

Samsung Galaxy S10Galaxy S10

The Galaxy S10 comes with a 6.1-inch Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED screen (550PPI) and features the groundbreaking “punch-hole” Infinity-O Display. It’s a screen you’d expect from Samsung. In short, it’s amazing. It’s the world’s first HDR10+ certified display as well as TUV Rheinland-certified for Eye Comfort.

It boasts the first-ever embedded Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner that’s fast and secure.

Powering the device is the 7nm octa-core Exynos 9820 chipset with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of storage.

In the optics department, the Galaxy S10 features a triple camera system consisting of a 12MP wide-angle 12MP f/1.5-2.4 main shooter with OIS and Dual Pixel autofocus, a 12MP f/2.4 telephoto secondary shooter, and an ultra-wide 123-degree FOV 16MP f/2.2 fixed focus camera.

The front camera is a 10MP selfie shooter that can now shoot UHD 4K video, an industry first.

The device is equipped with a 3,400mAh battery that supports fast wired and wireless charging.

Galaxy S10+

For those who prefer a bigger display, the Galaxy S10+ offers a large 6.4-inch Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED display (438PPI) with Infinity-O.

Aside from a bigger 4,100mAh battery and a dual selfie camera (it has a secondary 8MP f/2.2 depth camera), the Galaxy S10+ shares much of its underpinnings with the standard Galaxy S10.

The Galaxy S10e is the perfect trojan horse targeted at people who are considering a flagship Samsung device but don’t have the necessary budget to spare.

Emulating an Apple-like strategy with the iPhone XR, the Galaxy S10e shares much of the tech specs of its more expensive siblings.

The key differences include a smaller 5.8-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED display and a smaller 3,100mAh battery.

In the optics department, the device packs a dual-camera setup – 12MP    f/1.5-2.4 main shooter with OIS and an ultra-wide 16MP f/2.2 fixed focus unit, both from the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+.

The entry-level Galaxy S also come in a funky new colour – Canary Yellow.
