Pre-order the Microsoft Lumia 650 starting 1 April and enjoy BIG rewards

Microsoft Lumia 650

Looks like the Microsoft Lumia 650 is finally hitting Malaysian shores. The affordable Windows 10 smartphone is available for pre-order starting today exclusively from Lazada and is set to officially be on sale from 8 April 2016.

The Lumia 650 may be a budget phone, but it surprisingly boasts a premium design with a diamond-cut and anodized aluminum. When I had a hands-on with it at the recent MWC 2016, I thought it was better built than the flagship Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL.

It’s also the thinnest Windows 10 smartphone in the market, measuring at just 6.9mm.

Hardware-wise, it’s not going to break any performance records, but it’s sufficient enough to run Windows 10 well and smoothly. It sports a 5-inch HD OLED display protected by Gorilla Glass.

Powering the Lumia 650 is a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 mated to 1GB of RAM and 16GB of on-board storage. If you need more storage, you can expand further via microSD (up to 200GB).

In the optics department, it packs an 8MP f/2.2 main shooter with a 5MP wide-angle selfie camera.

The built-in battery is rated at 2,000mAh, and should keep it juiced for a day.

The device is 4G LTE enabled and supports a single nano-SIM.

Pricing and availability

The Lumia 650 retails at MYR899 and is available for pre-order starting today, 1 April on the Microsoft Online Store at Lazada. It will also hit Microsoft Authorised Resellers, Microsoft Mobile Reseller Stores and retailers nationwide from 8 April onwards.

Early birds stand to be handsomely rewarded. Between 1-7 April, the first 150 customers will get 13,899 AirAsia BIG Point which can be redeemed for a free ticket to a dream destination. Additionally, there’s a MYR25 Lazada rebate voucher.

As an introductory offer, from 8-15 April, customers will also enjoy 13,000 AirAsia BIG points.
