Alongside the huge PlayStation 4 (PS4) announcement on 15 November, Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong (“SCEH”) also announced the new PS Vita 2000 series and PS Vita TV. The new PS Vita is slimmer, lighter Wi-Fi enabled model and will be available in Malaysia from 6 December 2013 for RM859 (SRP).
The new PS Vita Wi-Fi model (PCH-2006) is 20% slimmer and 15% lighter than the original version, and comes with a 1GB internal memory card. It features a 5-inch HD LCD front display and will come in six different colours – “Black”, “White”, “Lime Green/White”, “Light Blue/White”, “Pink/Black” and “Khaki/Black.”
With its availability on 6 December, the PS Vita will have a new line-up of peripherals, including the PS Vita Soft Case, PS Vita Cradle with Cable and PS Vita Protective film.

Similar to the PlayStation 4 announcement, SCEH will be offering a new regional warranty service for 6 Southeast Asian countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Buyers of the new PS Vita will be entitled to a one year free regional repair service in countries where the product has been launched.
