NAIAS 2016, here I come #FordNAIAS

NAIAS 2016

I’m about to fly half way across the world to Detroit, home to the North American International Auto Show or NAIAS for short. Thanks to Ford, I’ll be joining 160 other global influencers in experiencing the exciting auto show that’s sure to set everyone’s heart racing.

Little needs to be said about Detroit – the heart of the global automotive industry. Where it all began, so to speak. Last year, NAIAS 2015 featured a whopping 55 vehicle introductions and attended by over 5,000 journalists from 60 countries.

Held again at the Cobo Center, NAIAS comprises five shows – The Gallery, the ultra-luxury automotive event; Press Preview; Industry Preview; Charity Preview; and nine-day Public Show.

The show will officially kick-off with The Gallery on 9 January, hosted at the luxurious MGM Grand Detroit. The Press Preview will happen from 11-12 January where it will be fast and furious with two full days of product reveals and debuts. There will be over 750 vehicles on display. Beautiful madness.

That’s not all. Three vintage cars from the America’s Car Museum (ACM), the largest auto museum in North America, will make an appearance at NAIAS. Called ‘The Drive Home,’ the three stunning red vintage cars are a 1957 Chevrolet Nomad, a 1961 Chrysler 300G 2-door hardtop and a 1966 Mustang. The trio would have trekked over 2,900 miles across major cities including Portland, Salt Lake City, Kansas City and Chicago, just to name a few.

2017 Ford Fusion NAIAS
Well, hello there.

What’s Ford up to?

Fresh from CES 2016 where it announced its Smart Mobility Plan and showcased its advanced vehicle connectivity system – SYNC 3, Ford is expected to debut the new 2017 Fusion, amongst other things.

The 2016 Ford NAIAS Digital Summit promises to be exciting, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store!
