Motorola’s re-entry into the Malaysian market began with the stunning Moto Z, Moto Z Play and cutting-edge Moto Mods late last year. Looks like the brand’s expanding its reach this year, starting with the new Moto M.
It’s not a modular smartphone of course, yet the Moto M is every bit stunning. It has a full-metal unibody and a vibrant 5.5-inch Full HD display.
For added durability, the unibody is water-repellent thanks to its special nano-coating that protects it against spills and splashes. Yes, both inside and out.
It uses the 64-bit octa-core MediaTek P15 processor that’s mated to a Mali T860 GPU. It’s no slouch for sure, coming bundled with 4GB LPDDR3 RAM and 32GB of storage. 32GB is sufficient, but if you need more, simply slot in a microSD card for up to 128GB extra storage.
Like some of principal brand Lenovo’s offerings – PHAB Plus and Vibe X3 to name a few, the Moto M boasts Dolby Atmos audio. I can personally attest that Dolby Atmos is awesome if you’re into audio, and also binge-watching videos.
Moto’s mid-ranger packs a 16MP f/2.0 rear camera with PDAF and dual CCT flash. On the front, it has an 8MP selfie-shooter with Beautification mode.
Keeping it juiced all day and a bit is a large 3,050 battery. It includes a 10W rapid charger to give you a boost when charge is low.
Moto M runs Android 6.01 Marshmallow.
