Jabra Pulse Sport

The world’s first ever stereo earbuds with in-ear biometric heart rate monitor is set to kick you into active gear — the Jabra Sport Pulse Wireless, together with the intelligent Sport Life app.

Now available in Malaysia, Jabra Sport Pulse Wireless with its integrated heart rate monitor, immersive Dolby sound and real-time voice coaching will help you plan, track and evaluate your workout.

Nam the Man

Award-winning Vietnamese freestyle footballer, Nam the Man, with the earbuds in-ear, wowed the media with his slick freestyle moves, at the launch at True Fitness Gym, Jaya 33. He also thrilled the crowd at Radioshack, Mid Valley Megamall later.

Your mobile coach

Together with the Sport Life app, the Sport Pulse Wireless earbuds provides real-time coaching — updating you when you hit your heart rate zone, or goals based on distance, time or calories burnt.

The earbuds pair wirelessly to your iOS or Android smartphone. It is also compatible with community-based fitness trackers like Endomondo, Runtastic, Runkeeper and even Apple’s HealthKit.

Medically accurate

The Jabra Sport Pulse Wireless has medically-proven in-ear heart rate technology, as independently verified by the Campbell University in North Carolina, USA. Comprehensive trials with runners on a treadmill and simultaneous tests against a medical electrocardiogram (ECG) machine showed an impressive 98.2% accuracy.

The Jabra Wireless sporting family grows

With the Sport Pulse Wireless earbuds, Jabra grows its portfolio of sport-focused products, complementing the award-winning Jabra Sport Rox Wireless and Sport Wireless+ earbuds.

Pricing and availability

Jabra Sport Pulse Wireless retails for RM799 (US$239) and is available at all Machines, Connect Store, Radio Shack and Harvey Norman outlets across the country.

Initial impressions

The new Sport Pulse Wireless earbuds reminds me a great deal of the Jabra Rox Wireless I currently use. It fits perfectly and securely in the ear, and being wireless it’s tangle-free. Battery life is claimed to be a little over five hours, which is similar to the Jabra Rox. The in-ear heart rate monitor is an excellent addition, complemented by the Sport Life app.

With an integrated heart rate monitor, Sport Life app and ability to play music means one less device to have on you while you’re out exercising. A huge plus I feel is it’s compatibility with apps like Endomondo and Runkeeper, which means you don’t lose your legacy workouts and stats.

Certainly earbuds to consider if you’re a serious fitness enthusiast.
