iOS 5 Beta 3 Pushed to Developers, Jailbroken the Day After

iOS 5

iOS 5

Apple has just pushed iOS 5 Beta 3 to developers, bringing bug fixes, enhancements, new features and APIs with the update. This comes barely 2 weeks since the seeding of iOS 5 Beta 2. Notable changes in this build – a new icon for Reminders, iTunes-free setup and custom text messaging tones. In Beta 2,  there was strong evidence of Over-the-Air (OTA) updates via 3G and WiFI in the SDK. “PC-Free” is coming closer to fruition! *jumps for joy*.

While Apple continues to roll out developer updates, friends in the pwn-space have been busy too. ih8sn0w.com has released a tethered jailbreak for iOS Beta 3 with sn0wbreeze 2.8b4. This jailbreak requires a Windows PC.

Jailbreaking allows users to install software that is not approved by Apple on their iOS devices.
