Huawei will be another Chinese vendor pushing the mobile price/specifications envelope with the official debut of its Honor 3C smartphone in Malaysia tomorrow. The colourful budget smartphone is expected to be priced at under RM600 (US$160) for the 2GB RAM version.

The Honor 3C touts a bright 5-inch 720p HD (321PPI) display, a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 chipset and an 8MP Sony-sourced camera with f/2.0 aperture. It comes with a fairly large capacity battery of 2300mAhand comes with 8GB of storage with the option for microSD expansion. The Honor 3C packs dual-SIM capabilities (GSM + WCDMA or GSM + TD-SCDMA) and a dual-mic setup for noise cancellation. The Honor 3C runs Android 4.2.2 out of the box.

Huawei started to create hype for the new device in partnership with its online retail partner Vmall several days ago with a “Guess the Price” Facebook contest where it will give out 100 units of Honor 3C for correct guesses.

The Honor 3C will come in 6 colours (interchangeable back covers) and is expected to be available for purchase exclusively on Vmall tomorrow.

Good guess nonetheless, but I think it will be RM599, loosely based on its US price of $160. 🙂
