Huawei is rolling out a software update that will give its flagship Huawei P10 and P10 Plus enhanced camera features and overall better camera performance. The update follows a series of recent rollouts for its devices, including the EMUI 5.0 update for the MediaPad M3 last month.
The latest update brings your photos to life through the new “Moving Picture” feature. If you thought, “hey, like Live Photos on the iPhone?” then yes, you’re right.
Moving Picture lets you take pictures with motion, allowing you to relive moments before and after clicking the shutter.
Huawei P10’s Leica Dual-Camera 2.0 and P10 Plus’ Leica Dual-Camera 2.0 Pro Edition have been groundbreaking smartphone cameras from the get go. With the update, the camera experience is even better.
The P10 features a 12MP RGB colour sensor and a 20MBP monochrome sensor on its main rear shooter. It retains the P9’s SUMMARIT-H f/2.2 aperture lens. On the front, it gets a Leica 8MP f/1.9 selfie shooter. The cool thing about it is that it has an adaptive nature, and adjusts zoom based on the number of users in the shot.
The P10 Plus on the other hand, boasts the world’s first SUMMILUX-H f/1.8 aperture dual-lens camera system. The new Leica camera system consists of the new lens setup coupled with 20MP monochrome and 12MP RGB sensors. And for the first time ever, the P10 Plus features a Leica 8MP f/1.9 selfie camera.
According to Huawei, the update also brings improved camera performance for more authentic imaging.
Additionally, the devices get improved system optimisation with better power efficiency and longer battery life.
And naturally, the update also includes the latest Android OS security with Google Security Patch.
