You can pre-order the tablet via https://shop.huawei.com/my/april2020-new-launches.html as well as the Huawei Flagship Store on Lazada.

The pre-order period is from 3-10 April 2020 with delivery to start from 11 April onwards.

Pre-order buyers will receive MYR1,000 worth of exclusive free gifts including the Huawei Keyboard and M-Pencil, 50GB of cloud storage (valid for 12 months), free three-month free premium subscription to Huawei Video, and WPS Office Premium.

Features and specs

The Huawei MatePad Pro packs a 10.8-inch WQXGA IPS display (2560×1600) and is powered by the Kirin 990 chipset. Memory is 8GB complemented by 256GB of onboard storage. Storage is expandable via NM Memory Card, Huawei’s proprietary storage format.

Weighing 460g, the compact tablet offers a 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, GLONASS, and Beidou.

Keeping things juiced is a large 7,250mAh battery that charges via USB-C.  Support for 20W fast-charging means it can give you three hours of use with just 30 minutes of charge time. It also supports 15W wireless charging and 7.5W reverse wireless charging.

If you love shooting photos and videos on a tablet, then the single 13MP f/1.8 main shooter should be usable. On the front is an 8MP f/2.0 autofocus selfie camera peeping from a punch-hole located on the top-right corner of the display.

The accompanying M-pencil supports 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity and it can charge wirelessly when attached at the top of the tablet. If it sounds iPad Pro-ish to you, well, it’s ok to copy from the best. The stylus will happily charge up in full within an hour.

The keyboard case doubles as a dual-angle stand and the keyboard offers 1.3mm key travel.

With the new tablet, Huawei is introducing a couple of new features including Multi-Window for enhanced multi-tasking. That aside, Huawei App Multiplier lets you launch the same app side-by-side for added convenience and spontaneity.

In the audio side of things, the MatePad Pro comes with a quad-channel, quad-speaker system enhanced by Histen 6.0 3D stereo and tuned by Harman Kardon Audio.

As you may know, Huawei Malaysia also launched the new Huawei P40 and P40 Pro as well as Huawei Watch GT 2e.
