Loud and clear. That’s what you’ll be getting on Huawei’s flagship Mate 9 when you make calls on U Mobile’s 4G network nationwide. Thanks to VoLTE (Voice over LTE), voice call quality and connectivity is greatly improved.
In a nutshell, VoLTE is the standard for high-speed wireless communication for mobile phones, and data terminals and rides on an all-IP data network.
VoLTE has up to three times more voice and data capacity than 3G (UMTS), and is up to six times more than 2G (GSM). You’ll not only get high-definition voice and video calls but also better coverage, low latency and less dropped calls.
First pioneered in Malaysia by YTL Communications with its Yes brand, VoLTE is slowly but surely making its way into other local providers. U Mobile first introduced the availability of VoLTE in early May 2017. For starters, U Mobile’s VoLTE support is open to Apple iPhone flagships, followed by the sole representative in the Android camp – Huawei Mate 9.
