When greatness connects: Lionel Messi is now Huawei Global Brand Ambassador

FC Barcelona star footballer and four-time Ballon d’Or (FIFA World Player of the Year) award winner Lionel Messi is now one of Huawei’s Global Brand Ambassadors. Messi joins a star-studded line-up of ambassadors including Robert Lewandowski and Alexis Sanchez.

Huawei says its partnership with the legendary footballer showcases its alignment with people and brands that strive for excellence and greatness.

Messi’s journey as an individual and professional footballer has been an inspiration to all over the world.

He said, “You have to fight to reach your dream. You have to sacrifice and go all in, always looking forward to achieving greatness. The day you think there are no improvements to be made, you have to keep working for reaching other achievements.”

The monetary value of Messi’s ambassadorship was not revealed.

Huawei has seen a phenomenal rise in the smartphone industry, now the #3 in the world. Driven by innovation and commitment to excellence, it has risen up the ranks spearheaded by its premium devices including the the Mate, P and G series. It pushed some 100 million units of devices to consumers in 2015. Since its launch in November 2016, the flagship Mate 8 has sold over 3 million units around the world.
