GoPro Fusion

The GoPro brand has built a reputation around capturing amazing moments, and has long been the go-to tool for action sports. Today, the leading action cam brand is adding another storytelling tool to its arsenal–the Fusion. It’s late to the 360 spherical camera scene, but sometimes it isn’t about who dives in first. It’s who does it better. Read on to find out more.

Alongside the HERO6 Black edition, GoPro also introduced an enhanced Karma drone and of course, the Fusion. The 360 spherical cam features two lenses, one in the front and another in the rear. The lenses themselves can shoot up to 5.2K video at 30fps. It can also take 18MP spherical photos and capture 360 degree audio.

The new spherical cam is capable of time lapse photos as well as night lapse and burst mode photos.

The Fusion is waterproof up to 5m/16ft and GoPro says it is compatible with most existing GoPro mounts, although it does come with a new Fusion Grip mount.

Other features include advanced stabilisation using an accelerometer, gyroscope and compass.

The Fusion also comes with OverCapture feature which helps create traditional video from the 360 footages taken by the two cameras. The new feature will roll out as part of the new GoPro app, available for both iOS and Android devices, slated for an early 2018 release.
