Eversendai Corporation Berhad, have selected Oracle‘s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne suite to augment their ICT competencies in Malaysia. Oracle’s JD Edwards Enterprise One is a comprehensive enterprise resource planning software which is expected to transform Eversendai’s IT infrastructure and help streamline its operational management.
Eversendai is a leading structural engineering company and one of the major steel contractors for steel structures in Middle East and Asian region. The steel monolith is responsible for iconic projects such as the Burj Al Arab Hotel, Emirates Tower, Petronas Twin Towers (Tower 2) and Burj Khalifa. Eversendai has completed over 100 projects across 10 countries and currently has an order book of over RM1.5 billion. 95 percent of its projects are currently based outside of Malaysia. Eversendai plans to increase Malaysian-based projects to 10 percent in the coming 1-3 years.

Eversendai possesses an impressive record of never delaying a single project to date no matter how complex it is, a feat it has maintained for over two decades. Since its humble beginnings, it now has four cutting-edge fabrication factories in Rawang, Selangor; Sharjah, United Arab Emirates; Al Qusasis Industrial Area, Dubai and Doha, Qatar. It is also in the process of establishing another fabrication factory in Chennai, India. These factories have a combined output of over 120,000 tons of fabricated steel per annum.
With a staff strength of over 6000 in offices and projects across Malaysia, Middle East and South East Asia, Eversendai has experienced enormous growth and consequently required a system that could integrate and consolidate its operations. Eversendai consequently looked to Oracle for a customized solution to meet its operational needs.

Oracle’s JD Edwards Enterprise One suite was selected to help improve Eversendai’s operations. Key areas the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne suite will help:
- Utilize a real-time single view of truth of its overall business operations, subsidiary reports, and consolidated reports;
- Create configured bills of material, routings, pricing, and other important business information;
- Plan resource requirements and effectively manage manufacturing as well as procurement costs;
- Build a pro forma work breakdown structure (WBS) that depicts tasks that must be performed to meet customer demands at the margins they require through an intuitive project workbench;
- Consolidate item descriptions, integrating information across manufacturing modes and improve visibility into the engineering change management process;
- Take advantage of built-in integration with inventory management, procurement, product data management, and shop floor management.
Sunway Business Applications (SBA), a Gold level Member of Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN), will be deploying the project. SBA, established in 1991, specializes in implementing, upgrade and help desk support of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne entire applications suite.

The Eversendai-Sunway deal will be deployed over the next 3 months. The value of the deal remains undisclosed.
