Acer Liquid E3

The Acer Liquid E3 smartphone, first showcased at the 2014 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February, has finally arrived in Malaysia. The beautifully crafted mid-ranger retails for RM799, with a special limited promo at storekini.com offering the new Android-powered device at just RM599.

The Acer Liquid E3 is considered a premium mid-range smartphone, battling the likes of the Moto G and its numerous equivalents head on. The 4.7-inch HD IPS display is housed in a slim, curved 8.9mm body, weighing in at just 135g.

Acer touts the Liquid E3’s impressive 13MP f/1.8 autofocus main camera with ultra fast autofocus and low light performance. The Liquid E3 is also one of the first smartphones in the world that comes with a front camera coupled with a flash.

To differentiate itself from its competitors, Acer has integrated an AcerRAPid button on the back of the device that provides a shortcut to answer calls, launch a favourite app or get the camera ready for selfies. And you don’t even have to scan your fingerprint first! *tsk tsk

The device is powered by the venerable quad-core MediaTek MTK 6589 chipset running at 1.2Ghz, bundled with 2GB RAM. Originally, the Liquid E3 only came with 1GB so this is a welcomed upgrade for buyers. Acer has also upped storage to 16GB from the original 4GB, another plus.

The front-facing speakers with DTS Surround Sound should satisfy audio enthusiasts on the go.

Pricing and availability

The dual-SIM Acer Liquid E3 is priced at RM799, and comes with a free screen protector. As mentioned, storekini.com is running a limited offer of the Liquid E3 for just RM599. Not only that, buyers also get to take home a 2,600mAh powerbank with every purchase. Fantastic deal. The new smartphone will also be available at all Tesco outlets, selected All IT Hypermarket and PC Depot outlets. All IT Hypermarket is also throwing in a free 16GB microSD card with every purchase.
