Doogee Malaysia has unveiled an ensemble of mobile products in Malaysia, headlined by the flagship F7 Pro smartphone. The F7 Pro is the world’s first deca-core smartphone, powered by the MediaTek Helio X20 processor. Doogee also introduced the T6, the mid-range device that comes with a whopping 6,250mAH battery. In addition, the China tech brand rolled out the budget Y200 smartphone, Smart Cube P1 pico projector and the S1 smartwatch.
The F7 Pro is the most premium product in Doogee’s range, featuring a metal chassis and textured plastic back. The front packs 2.5D glass, with a bright 5.7-inch Full HD IGZO display. The display unit at the launch was apparently a prototype, and a representative from Doogee says the final product will be slimmer.
It feels good in the hands and from first impressions, appears well built.
The powerhouse
Under the hood, it’s powered by the world’s first deca-core processor – the MediaTek Helio X20 (MT6797). Early benchmarks have been promising, with the 10-core processor hitting in excess of 85,000 points in AnTuTu.
Taking performance seriously, it’s bundled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
On the back of the device, there’s a fingerprint sensor which scans and unlocks in 0.1 seconds.
In the camera optics front, the main shooter uses a 21MP Sony IMX230 Exmor RS sensor, the same one that’s on Sony’s own Xperia Z3 Plus (Z4). So expect some great-looking photos and videos. The front gets an equally impressive 13MP selfie shooter.
Keeping the device juiced is a large 4,000mAh battery. It comes with a USB Type-C port that delivers fast data transfer and rapid charging.
The F7 Pro runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.
Pricing and availability
The F7 Pro is expected to officially launch in the second quarter of 2016. Price to be revealed.
