Deezer announced several days ago that it has expanded its content offerings — adding news and entertainment programs to complement its music catalogue. The digital music streaming service has also added 20,000 podcasts and radio shows, now offering the “most extensive and customisable audio experience” across the globe.
For now, listeners in France, UK and Sweden can search, add and listen to over 20,000 shows from renowned content providers such as Slate, Financial Times, Monocle 24, Radio Nova, Telerama and Sveriges Radio.
The launch of the new content is a result of the acquisition of Stitcher, the leading radio and podccast app, by Deezer last October.
The new content offerings will roll out internationally in the coming months.
Deezer streams to over 180 countries, with 16 million monthly active users and 6 million paid subscribers worldwide. Its music catalogue totals 35 millions songs, spanning across 30,000+ radio channels and now 20,000+ podcasts. Deezer is available for iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows devices or via the web at deezer.com.
