Computex 2014: Excitement brews in Taiwan

Computex 2013

Compoutex Computex 2013

The annual Computex in Taipei, Taiwan, is Asia’s very own CES – a showcase of the latest and greatest computing devices, gadgets, components and accessories. This year will be no different, as Taiwanese and global brands strive to ignite the PC marketplace at Asia’s biggest IT trade show which officially kicks off tomorrow (Tuesday, 3 June).

Intel, who have generously sponsored our trip here this year, will be one of the big names at the show.

Even before the show officially kicks of tomorrow (Tuesday), manufacturers like Acer, ASUS and Dell have already announced new products with a first round of press events today.

There should be some exciting revelations tomorrow, with Intel’s annual keynote and a media roundtable on wearables.

AMD and Microsoft will be holding their keynotes on Wednesday. Intel will also hold a mobile and PC satellite event.

Alongside the mainstream consumer tech scene is the gaming side of Computex. The big names, as expected, are here. Corsair, Cooler Master, Kingmax, Roccat, NZXT, AMD, Gigabyte and MSI.

The beauty of Computex, just like CES, is the unexpected (and sometimes weird) creations from unknown or little known vendors and startups. Could there be Asia’s very own Google Glass? Or a never before seen smartwatch?

Who knows? It all happens at Computex. Stay tuned for updates here and via our social channels.
