With the launch of the spanking new iPhone 7 earlier this morning, Apple has cut pricing on older generation devices. The base model iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are now MYR500 lighter on the pocket. In addition to that, Apple is doubling storage across the board, with 32GB being the base standard.
This is absolute good news for those of you who don’t need the latest and greatest from Apple (hint: iPhone 7). To its credit, the iPhone 6s is still a kick-ass smartphone by today’s standards. Sure, it lacks water-resistance, stereo speakers and that funky dual-cam setup (on the iPhone 7 Plus), but hey, it’s still… an iPhone.
The base iPhone 6s 32GB is now just MYR2,699 (from MYR3,199) which makes it a pretty compelling buy. If you pick up the 128GB model (MYR3,199), you’re essentially getting MYR1,000 off, based on previous pricing. Another sweet deal.
The 32GB iPhone 6s Plus also looks delicious from the get go. Decisions, decisions.
The cheapest iPhone that money can buy is still the iPhone SE, if you don’t mind the minute 4-inch screen. The base 16GB model will set you back just under two grand, at MYR1,949. The 64GB variant is now slightly cheaper at MYR2,199 (from MYR2,449).
If buying outright isn’t your thing, the best alternative places to buy the iPhone is still via U Mobile (its UPackage and U MicroCredit Instalment plans are the best) and Maxis’ Zerolution device program.
