Cards & Payments Asia 2012 is in its 17th iteration, and its seven co-located events will open in Singapore from 25-27 April 2012 at Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre, Level 4, Halls 401-403. The three-day mega event will showcase the latest in payment technology and platforms, Near Field Communication (NFC), digital identification, RFID and retail as well as a spectrum of smart technology initiatives.

Co-located with Cards & Payments Asia 2012 are 7 synergistic events: Prepaid Cards Asia, Near Field Communication World Asia, Digital ID World Asia, RFID World Asia, Retail World Asia, Online Retail World Asia and Digital Signage World Asia.

Global NFC application revenue is expected to reach $10.6 billion (RM32.4 billion) in 2012, according to data by business intelligence company, Visiongain. The rapid growth in NFC adoption is expected to change the business landscape especially in retail and transportation sectors.

Each year, over 200 million people are engaged in money transfers of about $400 billion (RM1.2 trillion) globally. Technology like NFC which is fully encrypted will revolutionize the way global transfers are done.
