Canon, the #1 brand in the interchangeable-lens digital camera market for 12 consecutive years (2003-2014), has introduced the new EOS 760D, EOS 750D and the Connect Station CS100. The entry-level DSLRs and photo-sharing device are aimed squarely at casual photography enthusiasts and people who love sharing their photos online.
The EOS 760D and EOS 750D are the first in Canon’s EOS entry-level lineup to offer an ultra-high resolution of 24.2MP. This is mated to the latest Canon DIGIC 6 image processor, ensuring top quality images. Additionally, the EOS 760D can shoot HDR movies.
The new Hybrid CMOS AF III system lets you quickly focus in both Live View shooting and video recording. Both the ESO 760D and 750D support ISO levels up to 12,800 (expandable to 25,600), and a continuous shooting speed of 5fps.
Impressively, the entry-level cameras feature 19-point all-cross type AF, something you’ll see higher up in the EOS range.
There’s Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity, and also 3.0-inch Vari-angle touch panel.
The EOS 760D weighs in at 520g (body) and feels compact and light in the hands. Build is solid although a tad plasticky. Like more expensive EOS cameras, the EOS 760D has a top panel LCD (the EOS 750D) doesn’t).
The Connect Station CS100 is equipped with Wi-Fi and NFC for easy pairing with the cameras. Images can be conveniently transferred to the 1TB hard drive in the CS100 for viewing and sharing.
Content can be viewed via any browser on mobile devices. The CS100 is the only media centre in the market that supports web browser access without a need to install any dedicated applications.
The CS100 also packs HDMI OUT, CF card slow and SD memory card slot.
