We’ve just been sent a media invite for the launch of a new BlackBerry smartphone, set for July 4, 2013. No prizes guessing what BlackBerry will be unveiling. The media invite graphic clearly points to the BlackBerry Q5, with the famed BlackBerry QWERTY keyboard.
If the BlackBerry Z10 and Q10 were smartphones that proved BlackBerry can innovate and keep up with consumer trends; then the BlackBerry Q5 may be the boost the Canadian phone maker needs for volume sales.
A mass-market phone it is, but a slouch it is not. The BlackBerry Q5 comes with a 1.2Ghz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 2GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. It’s 3.1″ IPS LCD capacitative touchscreen is crisp and sharp (328PPI).
The Q5 supports HSPA/4G LTE and comes with a whopping 2180mAH battery.
It is naturally, powered by BlackBerry 10 OS. As it should be.
Watch up for launch coverage of the BlackBerry Q5 on July 4.
