ASUS is confirmed to be introducing its new ZenFone 5 lineup at MWC 2018 in Barcelona later this month. A recent leak by WinFuture gives a clear picture of entry-level device. What’s interesting is its rear camera placement, which resembles the iPhone X. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, they say.
The 2018 ZenFone 5 (X00PD) purportedly sports a 5.7-inch 18:9 HD display, align with the current trend of “Full View” or full-screen, near bezel-less phones. It still has a pronounced chin and forehead, but over isn’t bad looking at all.
It’s hard not to notice iPhone X-inspired vertical dual-camera set up on the rear though. The rear cameras are rumoured to be a 13MP + 5MP combination, with LED flash, while the front will get a 5MP unit.
The dual-SIM device is supposedly powered by a Snapdragon 430 with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. It is expected to have a 4,000mAh battery and disappointingly feature a micro-USB port for charging.
It will run Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box.
Sources say there will several variants on the ZenFone 5, likely to be the ZenFone 5 , ZenFone 5 Max and ZenFone 5 Lite for starters.
