Amazon’s International Shopping lets you shop in your local currency, yes in RM too

Amazon International Shopping

Having been an Amazon customer for over two decades, it’s delightful to learn that it’s now even easier to shop on the platform. Through its just-launched “International Shopping” experience within the Amazon Shopping App, international customers can browse and shop over 45 million items and get them shipped from the US.

Over the years, I’ve used mules (usually friends) and drop ship services when I shop at Amazon, or on the occasions that I’m in the US, I get things shipped to the hotel where I’m staying. And it’s usually in US currency. Things will be far easier and more convenient now with the new International Shopping experience. It’s huge news. Really.

The new feature offers shopping in five languages including English, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, German, and Brazilian Portugese, supporting 25 currencies.

This enables you to shop in your local currency as well as choosing different shipping options and delivery speeds.

Amazon International Shopping

To get started, simply download the free Amazon Shopping App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and you’ll be automatically forwarded to the International Shopping experience.

If you’re already an Amazon customer and an Amazon app user, all you need to do is go to the Settings page and under “Country & Language” option, select “International Shopping.”

You can also set your language and currency preference. You may change your location at any time and see products eligible to be shipped to your selected delivery location.

The great thing is that the app will display clear pricing, shipping costs and import duty estimates. Amazon coordinates with courier services for customs clearance on behalf of its customers, so there are no surprises at the time of purchase or delivery.

I’m personally super chuffed by this new development, and I can’t wait for big sale events like Black Friday.
