Adobe’s Network Hacked: 2.9M Customer Names, Encrypted Credit Card Numbers and Source Code Leaked

Adobe revealed today that its network has been compromised resulting in a leak of 2.9 million customer names, encrypted credit or debit card numbers and other information relating to customer orders. The software company also revealed that source code for numerous of its products were also accessed.

No specific details on when the breach occurred but Adobe’s security team discovered sophisticated attacks on its network very recently and believe that the illegal access of its customer database and source code for its products may be related.

Adobe has taken steps to reset passwords, notify customers, banks and authorities to secure and protect customers’ accounts. They have also contacted federal law enforcement and are currently assisting in investigations.
