Alongside the menacing Predator Orion 9000 desktop, Acer rolled out the Predator X35-a sexy 35-inch 1800R curved gaming monitor at IFA 2017. The monitor rocks WQHD (3440×1440) resolution and features NVIDIA G-Sync, Acer HDR Ultra and quantum dot technologies.
Since the introduction of the gaming brand, Acer has launched some pretty cutting-edge gaming monitors. The Predator X35 pushes the envelope a tad further.
Firstly, as with all Predator products, it looks great, and in my opinion, the best-looking Predator monitor yet. As seen on the Orion 9000, it seems Acer has ditched the red of previous Predator products to a luminous turquoise.
It has an almost bezel-less design, and an intriguing 3-spoke stand. Around the back, it features advanced LED lighting, with 512 dynamically backlight zones.
The panel itself is pretty amazing. Based on a premium VA panel with quantum dot technology, it also has Acer HDR Ultra for excellent contrast and high dynamic range.
It also delivers a wider gamut of colours, covering 90% of the DCI-P3 colour standard.
What’s awesome is the fast 4ms response time and high 200Hz refresh rate that will keep even the hardcore gamer happy. There’s also NVIDIA G-Sync support, ensuring smooth and tear-free gameplay.
Acer has also added some handy tricks of its own. With Predator GameView, you’ll be able to select from eight pre-set display modes to suit different types of games.
You can choose from Action, Racing and Sports, or stick to Standard, ECO, Graphic and Movie. These modes can be invoked through a hotkey or via the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu. Additionally, you can also define your own custom profile and program each mode to suit your preferences.
Acer’s BlueLightShield is also a button away, giving you four different filter settings to reduce blue light emissions.
Last but not least, Dark Boost technology boosts details in dimly-lit environment.
