In a couple of days, rising Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi will be hosting a launch event at the Beijing National Convention Center, where the Mi3S is highly-expected to make a debut.
The Mi3S will be the first 4G phone from Xiaomi with expected support for both China and Asian markets. Details are sketchy, but it is widely rumoured that tech specs will be similar to the excellent Mi3 – 2.5Ghz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 13MP camera, Android 4.4 KitKat and of course, the beautiful MIUI interface.
Having spent extensive time with the lower-range Redmi, and some hands-on with the Mi3 recently, I expect the Mi3S to be as impressive, if not more. Remember how it sold 100,000 units of Mi3 phones in all but 86 seconds in China? Well, exciting times ahead for the young upstart.
For Malaysian fans, the Mi3 is indeed coming, officially on 20 May 2014. You will be able to order your Mi3 exclusively online. Don’t forget the 10,400mAh Mi PowerBank too.
