As a quick refresher, ASUS launched its fourth generation ZenFone in Taiwan just a week back. The new camera-focused series include the ZenFone 4, ZenFone 4 Max/Max Pro, ZenFone 4 Selfie/Selfie Pro and top-of-the-line ZenFone 4 Pro.
For the Malaysian market, ASUS is bringing in the ZenFone 4 Selfie, ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro and ZenFone 4 Max Pro (and ZenFone 4 at a later date).
The ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 625, while its cheaper sibling gets the Snapdragon 430.
Both devices boast 5.5-inch IPS displays (FHD for the Pro, HD for the Selfie), 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage and 3,000mAh built-in battery.
The ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro packs a 24MP DuoPixel f/1.8 + 5MP f/2.2 (120-degree FOV) dual-camera system with LED flash on the front (yes you read that right).
The Selfie gets a 20MP f/2.0 + 8MP f/2.4 setup with LED flash.
The ZenFone 4 Max Pro is a live-wire, affordable device that sports a 5.5-inch HD IPS display, Snapdragon 425 chip with 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage. It’s key feature is of course its massive 5,000mAh battery.
It also features a dual-camera system: 16MP f/2.0 + 5MP f/2.2 with LED flash on the rear. The front gets a 16MP f/2.2 camera.
All three devices run Android 7.0 Nougat with ZenUI 4.0.
Pricing and availability
The ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro retails for MYR1,799, the ZenFone 4 Selfie is priced at MYR899/MYR1,299, while the ZenFone 4 Max Pro goes for MYR1,099.
The devices hit retail channels starting today, 25 August 2017 after a pre-order period that started from 17 August.
