Pre-orders for Samsung’s latest Galaxy S9 and S9+ flagship devices officially kicked off today. Interested buyers can pre-book via the official Samsung Malaysia website, Lazada Malaysia or other retail partners. For those of you who don’t plan to pay full retail price on the device, Maxis has a couple of options for you.
With Maxis’ Zerolution device ownership program, you can pick up a Galaxy S9 from as low as MYR97 per month with a MaxisONE 188 plan. As you may know, Zerolution is a ground-breaking all-in-one plan that lets you pay for your device and your mobile plan in one convenient monthly bill.
Maxis currently offers only the Galaxy S9 64GB and Galaxy S9+ 64GB and 128GB models. As a comparison, the retail pricing of these models are MYR3,299, MYR3,799 and MYR3,999 respectively.
The cool thing is you also have the option to upgrade your device every 12 months for a small fee. You can also optionally buy device insurance called Zeroluton SafeDevice to insure against accidental damage and more.
Here’s a look at the different Zerolution plan options:
As an example, if you were to purchase a Galaxy S9 with a MaxisONE 188 plan and opt for an annual upgrade plus insurance, you’ll be paying a total of MYR164 + MYR188 = RM352 per month (excl. GST).
The MaxisONE 188 plan comes with 60GB of all-day data with unlimited calls and text. You can have up to four share lines with additional 5GB of data each added to the shared Data Pool.
Zerolution is offered for the MaxisONE Plan 188, MOP 158 and MOP 128.
If you’d rather go for a normal contract plan, expect to pay a subsidised device price on top of a MaxisONE Plan. For instance, if you opt for the top run MaxisONE Plan 188, the Galaxy S9 will cost MYR2,099.

Note that for both Zerolution and normal contracts, you’ll be tied to a 24-month contract.
Aligned with the official pre-order offer from Samsung Malaysia, pre-booking buyers will get a free Harman Kardon Onyx Mini Bluetooth speaker worth MYR699 with each unit purchased.
The pre-booking period runs from 1-4 March 2018. Choose to pick up your order at a Maxis Centre near you. The Galaxy S9 officially hits retail channels starting 16 March 2018.
