Fresh from its big launch in Malaysia recently, the OPPO F5 will have another reincarnation, albeit one with more beef. And it’s red.
OPPO Malaysia is bringing in the 6GB RAM version of the selfie-centric OPPO F5, and you’ll be able to pre-order the device starting 6 December 2017, at 12.30PM.
The first 1,000 pre-order customers will receive “mystery gift” according to OPPO.
No pricing has been revealed yet, but the OPPO F5 Red Edition is expected to come with a bigger price tag than its lesser sibling. The standard OPPO F5 currently retails at MYR1,298.
The OPPO F5 finally puts OPPO in the “Full View” display race, coming in with a 6.0-inch FullHD+ display with a 18:9 screen ratio.
Surprisingly, OPPO has decided to go the MediaTek route with its latest selfie champion, this time acquiring the services of the 16nm MediaTek Helio P23 processor (MTK6763T). It’s coupled with 6GB of RAM, while storage is set at 64GB. You can expand storage via microSD.
To compare, the standard OPPO F5 features 4GB of RAM, which is plenty in stock form, with 32GB of storage in tow.
In the camera department, it rocks a 16MP f/1.8 main shooter, while the front gets a massive 20MP f/2.0 shooter with AI beautification enhancement.
Keeping the device juiced is a 3,200mAh battery sans any fast charge technology.
It runs ColorOS 3.2 based on Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box.
