As revealed a couple of days ago, OPPO is making available a red edition of its OPPO R9s smartphone. The limited-run, striking red variant will hit stores starting Valentine’s Day.
The good news is you can pre-order the OPPO R9s Red Edition starting 10AM, 7 February 2017, from OPPO Concept Stores (check out the list at the end of the post) with just a MYR100 deposit fee. Alternatively, you can also pre-order online at www.oppostore.com.my/products/r9sred/.
For online pre-orders, there’s an additional perk. You can choose to personalize the R9 Red Edition with a laser-printed name (max. of 15 characters) on the back of phone. The name (let’s presume it’s your partner’s), can be in Chinese or English characters.
Just so you know, the OPPO R9s Red Edition looks delicious in metallic red. Having seen, touched and caressed the phone, I can safely say it’s the most delicious looking R9s yet. The six-string antenna lines in black accentuates the sleekness of the device.
With the OPPO R9s, it’s all about the camera. This time now, the focus in on the rear camera. Boasting a 16MP rear shooter with f/1.7 aperture and dual PDAF, the R9s is set to impress, even in low light conditions.
The front gets an equally competent 16MP f/2.0 selfie shooter that’s enhanced with Beauty 4.0 software trickery.
That aside, the 5.5-inch device is powered by the Snapdragon 625 chip with 4GB RAM and 64GB of onboard storage.
The dual-SIM device also comes packed with a large 3,010mAh that supports VOOC Flash Charge.
Pricing and availability
No pricing has been revealed yet for the OPPO R9s Red Edition although it is expected to retail for a MYR100-200 premium over the regular version. UPDATE: OPPO has released the official pricing of the OPPO R9s Red Edition, and it is the same as the regular version – MYR1,798.
