Yesterday, SoyaCincau was tipped about a yet-to-be-announced Huawei smartphone that will be making its way to Malaysia soon — the mid-range Huawei P8 Lite. A ‘lighter’ version of the flagship Huawei P8 that will be launched in Singapore today, the P8 Lite was not one of the two announced in London last month. Instead, it was quietly released in certain markets and has yet to make an appearance in Southeast Asia.
While the Huawei P8 is the expected device to be revealed at the Huawei P8 regional launch today, another smartphone will also be launched alongside wearables. Evidence points to the Huawei P8 Lite (although the Huawei P8 Max is the more obvious reveal).
The Huawei P8 Lite with the product code ALE-L21 was spotted in the SIRIM database yesterday. It’s expected to debut in Malaysia in mid June together with the flagship P8.
Specs-wise, the P8 Lite sports a 5-inch HD 720p display, a 1.2GHz Octa-Core Kirin 620 processor mated to 2GB RAM and 16GB of storage. It also gets a 13MP rear and 5MP cameras, and a 2,200mAh capacity battery. If it sounds like an Honor 4X to you, you’re right. The budget device runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with Emotion UI 3.1 on top.
